Yabause 0.8.0

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Well, there isn't any sound yet, so you probably won't be able to use it as a CD Player right now. Plus, even if there was sound already, it would sound really bad at 4 FPS  .

Very impressive, I tried Sakura Wars and Nightruth, both loaded to some extent but lots of images were missing. Keep up the great work BlueCrab.

Were you able to fix the Graphics problems you posted about earlier in Lunar Magic School?

Thanks... I'm sure there's plenty of problems like those that I was having with Lunar. I'm sure there's also problems with games using odd color formats and such.... Not everything is implemented in the video core yet, since I don't have games to test all the modes with...

With the title screen? If so, then yeah, that works fine now.

Count me as offically impressed. If you ever go as far as to write title based video rendering system i'd be very impressed. However theres still so many graphical gltiches in the default yabause I doubt it would be worth it. I had lost faith in this project bc but, thanks for sticking with it even if its not the fullspeed warezing saturn emulator everyone wants.

Wasn't Sega going to make a Saturn boot disc for the Dreamcast back in the day before they said they were going to stop making the Dreamcast? If I'm right then I'm sure they were already working on it, meaning there's got to be a beta. Now all we need is someone working on the inside to get it to us

I'm pretty sure that was just a really bad rumor. I somewhat doubt Sega was working on anything like that.

...and even IF they would have been working on something like that (which they likely did though I highly doubt they came far due to not having any free resources nor enough time): - Do you honestly think it would be worth having some pieces of non-working code or an alpha that likely would not run much better than Yabause BUT is closed source so it couldn't be improved by anyone :?:

Why hoping for something to happen that's likely not worth the wait - while BlueCrab and the Yabause team actually ARE working on Yabause right now ? ;)

The only thing now, that i miss about the DC is the lack of GBA Emulation.

Never the less, this emu rocks!

BTW, has anybody got grandia working?

There's no saving yet. I didn't think anyone would really play far enough in any games to warrant it.

the saturn thing was a bad rumor. I remember reading about it as it started because in Shenmue Ryo had a sega saturn. It was early speculated that an emulator was to be completed somehow.
