Yabause-dc News (and 0.0.7 release!)

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

The next version of Yabause-DC? If so... hopefully by the end of the year.

As far as I know, the plan is to release the next version of Yabause itself by the end of the year. I'm not sure when exactly, but the Dreamcast version should be ready when the other versions are released (Linux, Mac OS X, Windows).

Will the DC version have the same compatablity and display at the PC one? The pc version has become outragously good and supports a lot of games. It can run my favorite saturn game Magic Knight. Even if DC cant run it fullspeed it would be neat to see it make it in game.

It should have the same compatibility, but there may be additional glitches (of course) introduced by accident (and by the fact that I'm using part of the not-quite-finished software renderer).

Anyway, here's a few screenshots I took yesterday to entice everyone with...

This is, of course, a game booting up...

This one.... well its a bit glitchy, but its the title screen to the game "Magical School Lunar". It shows one of the bugs I've been chasing for a few days now, in that the backgrounds are missing. It does however show a lot of progress (I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever taken screenshots of a game in Yabause).

Any updates?

If I can play Saturn's 2d fighters on my Dreamcast, I'll be pretty damn stoked.
