GPF porting gpSP to Dreamcast

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

GPF porting gpSP to Dreamcast

Post by Juan »

According to an article by ron at DCIberia, Troy Davis (aka GPF) is working on a port of the great GBA emu for PSP, gpSP, to Dreamcast.

The report on an early test build specifies that it's able to load ROMs up to 32MB in size (yes, that's Mega Bytes) due to a page file system.
It also allows to adjust the frameskip value on the fly, just by pressing the Y button.
ron @ DCIberia wrote:We hope that GPF releases an alpha version soon so you can start beta-testing in order to help him fix any bugs it might have.
We've had the chance to try it with multiple roms and the results are astonishing, this emulator is going to be something to talk about.
Sounds a little too great doesn't it? I'm waiting to hear from GPF himself.

this has a good chance of becoming a fabulous emulator. Hopefully it will reach a good playable speed with sound someday. isn't the coding structure of GBA the same as in SNES?

Can't wait for this emulator to make progress. Begins sitting at the computer and waiting day and night for an update. Excellent. My life has purpose now.

Is this emulator currently running better than visual troy advance?
and is Visual Troy Advance now dropped?
