So they make a game backwards compatible that A) is not even released yet and B) will see a native 360 release.

I predict 360 version sales will be low as anyone with sense will buy the cheaper one since Lego Star wars will look the same on all of them anyway

wow, counterstrike. I didnt expect that one. Since that game uses custom soundtracks that gives me a tiny bit of hope for phantom dust to be BC.

My personal wishlist
Phantom Dust
Conker Live and Reloaded
Doom 3 ROE
Doom 3 collectors eddition (i dont own that one but to get the doom 3 community up)
I cant think of too many others, so for now with just that I would be happy.

ill continue to wait, and wait to get a 360. so by the time there are a lot of good games out for the 360 and the list is a lot bigger the price may have dropped hehe.
I know waiting for the BC list sucks and pisseds a lot of people off, but they are working on it and that makes me happy.

bleh, except for burnout and lego SW its pretty much all generic tosh, i mean, smashing drive, that game got a 3.5 on GS

honestly, why does this all matter? anyone with a sizeable amount of xbox games has an xbox...

I just checked Best Buy's site and the 360 version will be $10 more expensive. Serious WTF on that.

It's always like that. Gun, at launch, was the classic example - $10 more and virtually nothing gained. Well, to be precise, slight frame rate and texture upgrade.

Maybe this is meant to collect some kind of market data at the expense of LucasArts? Microsoft gets paid either way, right? I'm not sure whether to think this is brilliant or ridiculous, which is about par for Microsoft initiatives in my experience.

About half of the Xbox games I own work now, but a huge number that I plan to buy don't.

And a big "WTFzorz?" to no Shenmue 2 or Psychonauts. I know that since this is software, they tend to get games with the same engine running before others, and this often leads to craptacular games working, but gimmie a break.

Well, that makes sense. You can just mod your original Xbox and play non-live games off the hard drive, then play Live-enabled games on the 360.

They were always better on the gamecube anyways

But yeah, this backwards compatability thing is a pretty pathetic showing, isn't the idea that being able to play your old classics on the new machine ensure a smooth transition from the last generation of console to the next (i.e PSONE > PS2) therefore attracting a large amount of existing xbox users?

Isn't that the whole point?

i looked at the entire list and you know its actully a large library. Even though the majority of the games are not the number one blockbuster hit, there is still a big list. Either way I still wont be getting a 360 for a long time. So far what i see on next gen is, THERE ARE NO GAMES.
