XBox 360 controller for windows

Post by DARKHALO2K »

Hi there. I was simply wondering if anybody knew of a driver that would allow use of the XBox 360's wired controller on a version of windows other than XP (as this is all the official driver supports)!?
Thanks in advance to anybody who can point me in the right direction. Cheers.

Pinnacle Game Profiler might be what you're looking for, you can map generic joystick buttons to various other buttons.

I use XBCD (I think, not on desktop to check) and I prefer that to the official MS one. Not sure if it'll work on anything other than XP, but give it a look. See if it's what you are asking for.

There is a yet to be released dongle that will let you use wireless controllers, but I believe it will only work with XP.

Do a search for XBCD 360. I believe that software will work with any version of Windows, not just XP. Now if you are talking about a software for something other than Windows, I don't have any suggestions.

Hmm, really? I know they have drivers for the original xbox controller, but I remember there being no option for xbox 360 controllers.

They aren't in the kernel itself yet. There's a modified version of the xpad driver that supports the Xbox 360 pad available somewhere, but you have to build it yourself.
