atari 2600 joystick mod?

atari 2600 joystick mod?

i was just wondering if an original atari 2600 joystick could be modded into a dc controller like the NES joystick has been and if any of you have done it? out

here is the pinouts to a controller. you can do the exact same thing like the nes to dc mod, except take those pins for each button you want. you might just want to rip out controller ports from an old 2600 so you can make it look really neat. you won't need to modifiy the controller at all. just hook the down pin to how it is hooked to down in the nes mod, and so on. if you need me to be more clear i can be, :)

yeah, it's easy 'cuz the atari sticks don't have any chips in them, each button/direction is just a metal contact with a wire going back to the console.
