DCStuntRacer

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Hi there. I just stumbled across this topic and I wondered if there's any news regarding a homebrew Outrun-clone ?

Segata Sanshiro:

If you're good at art and 3d modelling (which I think you are), you probably should join L@Cible: He was/is working on a fantastic looking homebrew racing game called DCStuntRacer:

I saw the .elf and I said "what the hell, I have a BBA and it'll take 5 seconds." OH MY GOD. Now THAT is impressive.

The 2player split screen demo is awesome. These guys really know what they're doing. This is a very promising project. I hope to see much more in the future. Until then, I can just jack off to this demo and wait.

Is DC Stunt Racer even alive? It doesn't seem to have been updated since September of 2003..

Dear SoS, I revived this topic -NOT- to push an Outrun port for DC, but to point Segata Sanshiro and others to L@Cible's great looking homebrew game DCStuntRacer:

Done. And, actually since this isn't aimed at a commercial release (as far as I know), I'll move it to DC Emulation & Homebrew.

Yeah, but somehow I still get the feeling that the project is more or less abandoned, which is really too bad since it's reall one of the most impressive homebrews.

By the way, the earlier 2003 demo is still floating around some places under the title "Buggy Demo," which sounds bad, but is actually a reference to the buggy vehicle you control not buggy code. It's pretty fun itself and quite different from the later demo, so I keep them both on my homebrew compilations. As far as I know L@ Cible never relesead a demo with that city environment seen in the screenshots on the project homepage.

I'd like to hear something if there's still hope for this project because it was definitely one to watch.
