Unai just messaged me (which is how I knew the boards are up) and said Chui has been working very hard on GP2PSX's codebase. He now has the code working on multiple platforms including the PC and DC.
I think having it working on the PC will improve development time greatly on the rest of the platforms.
I haven't heard from Unai how the GPU is going just yet. He really wants to rewrite the GPU from scratch and I think he's the best person to do it.
The dynarec is a complicated beast, but we have a dynarec for the PC already made. So once we have the OP codes "bytecode" for ARM it won't be such a hard process of figuring it out.
So the project is still alive, it's just been a lot of work lately. Now that were all back in contact things will go quicker again.
I'm really glad everyone's stuck around through all this waiting. Thanks.

Yeah, I saw that too, but zodttd also wrote....
Sorry to be negative, but it would take a lot of work to get this running well. From what I'm aware of the DC's GPU won't be of much help for PSX emulation. I'd have to get this confirmed with Chui, as this is just my speculation. The PSX uses it's own chipset for 3D calculations called the GTE. All PSX emulators I've seen do the GTE emulation in software without any hardware acceleration.
Nice! When I read about how well GP2PSX worked I thought a DC-port might be a possibilitiy, and now it is!

I really hope to see this emulator make some progress, just to see how far it will get.

PSX4ALL progress
At the moment, PSX4ALL is compiling for Dreamcast without problems, running at 5-6 fps using CPU interpreter and a bad software GPU render.
Now, we are working on CPU on-the-fly recompiler core for ARM and SH4, a decent software GPU render and OpenGL and PVR hardware GPU render.
This is a very very hard task, i hope that we will get the first decent results around 10-20 months.
