Try Kaleidoscope, it lets you customize the looks of the system with themes. Makes the system even more unstable, though.
Lines join in faint discord and the Stormwatch brews

It might not be OS 7, possibly OS 8 but there was a freeware CMD/Tab application switcher called LiteSwitch which proved most useful. One of those things you miss when it's not there.
Says OS 9 and earlier on the web page...

I can't remember too much about OS7 except playing Descent and Full Throttle. Quake 1 might work on OS 7 too if it's on a PowerPC Mac. I enjoyed a shareware game called Mac Brickout (http://www.leapfrogsw.com/download.html) and Boom (http://www.factor-software.com/download.php).
There were some other useful things like StartupDoubler (speeded up startup) and SmartScroll (both trial versions at: http://www.marcmoini.com/index.html)

Yeah that should run 9 or 8. either will have a few standard emus on them. Also as long as you streamline and cut down on useless items (disabled extensions and control panels) ,you can pick up the speed a bit an save memory.
But if you stick with 7, you need to update to 7.5.5, thats the last 7x before 8. 8 is a whole new game and uses more memory. More like a modern os than 7.
Actually, that is damn funny.. i just got the same exact mac. friend bought it at a yard sale. no AC adaptor though.. so im screwed.
