Gimme some good music
I've loved Weezer - Pinkerton since a friend gave it to me in 8th grade. Now that I'm in college, I've listened to it a little too much and am a little burned out. The rest of Weezer's stuff after Pinkerton blows imo, so I need something else to fill the void. I want something with that same angst that isn't too whiney or hard. Any suggestions?

Wow, I find it funny that you say everything Weezer has done after Pinkerton blows, yet you told me yourself that you've never listened to Maladroit. I like Maladroit better than Pinkerton anyway, so ya. Green album sucks though, and Make Believe is mediocre at best.
Listen to some Jimmy Eat World, I think they fit the description of what you're looking for quite nicely, and Wagh can back me up on that.

Maybe give Blue album a shot
In any case, Green and Maladroit blend together for me... Make Believe is different, but not bad.
As somebody said above, Jimmy Eat World's early stuff should suit you well. For some reason striking the right balance between whiney/angstyhardcore is really kindof hard to do, which is what makes Pinkerton so great.
If anything surfaces, I'll check them out too

I recommend Alkaline Trio, if you haven't already listened to them. There's a good amount of angst in their stuff up to their new album. The main theme of the last couple of albums was death...with a bit of humor to keep it from being very heavy. Prior to the album From Here to Infirmary, the theme was relationships going bad...but not in a "poor pathetic me" kind of way. They're my favorite band, and I'd recommend them to anybody with a tolerance for "the F word". I mean how can you not like a band with lyrics like, "If assholes could fly, this place would be busier than O'Hare"?
Songs I'd recommend...
As You Were
My Little Needle
Madam Me
F*** You Aurora
Tuck Me In
Radio
Private Eye
Mr. Chainsaw
Bloodied Up
Crawl
My Friend Peter
'97
This Could be Love
We've Had Enough
All on Black
Fatally Yours
Blue Carolina
Donner Party
Blue in the Face
Time to Waste
Sadie
Deathbed
Back to Hell
Songs from their split EPs...
Queen of Pain
While You're Waiting
Dead and Broken
If you Had a Bad Time
There...at least a couple of my favorite songs from every album

Maybe try some Soundgarden? It's kind of grung-y, but it has some pop overtones. Also, you might give Modest Mouse a try. I've only really listened to Weezer's Blue Album (and even then, only the classic staples like "Buddy Holly"), so I'm not really sure exactly what you're looking for.
Very sexy hero, omg
