Or in the same thought, look around to all the open software you use, and pick any to donate some to.

I'm assuming you have a digital camera. (If not, get one this month.)

Print up a few shirts for a ficticious clothing label you "plan to start". Will also work for a new microbrew, software development rig, etc. Take a day off, go out to a college town, and track down some hot chicks. Offer them free food and beer if they show up all sexy so you can take pictures of them with your product. Then, get a few of your buddies and a bunch of those chicks together. Props are ideal. Get everybody drunk and naked, and I think you can take it from there. Take pictures and have them framed on a wall, get 'em nice and big. There's something physical for you. That and the part where you get laid by stupid college chicks that want to be on camera.

If you can't spend $500 on that weekend project, you might as well wipe your ass with it.
