holy crap those things are overpriced
and without the distinctive white to scream to the world "HEY LOOK AT MY I LOVE MY IPOD SO MUCH I BOUGHT ITS BIG BROTHER" you just payed twice as much for a intel core duo laptop as you should have, just to run a heavily modified version of unix
sounds like a deal to me
i also looked over the refurb section in the shop, full of rip offs if you ask me

no it doesnt, they simply use a single "intel core duo" AKA yonahmattthemodder wrote:So, its not dual core, its 2 separate cpu's wtf
oddly enough these same (mobile) chips are also used in the new imacs, i wonder if intel can keep up with demand for these things

Well they shouldn't be. If I cannot have a colored video game console, I prefer white over black or shades of grey. Same goes for laptops. That's why I liked the look of white Mac laptops over most of the PC laptops out there.ace wrote:Powerbooks have been aluminium for a while now.melancholy wrote:They ditched the white, therefore making it look like ever other laptop on the market.

These things can boot windows too. Msnbc had interviewed a guy from apple and he said no steps were taken to block the install of windows onto either the imac or the macbook then a ms guy said microsoft was commited to making office for the mac for 5 years and that they were excited about having the ability to run windows on any pc.

But the question remains; does it work the other way around? Can I install OSX on this PC I'm building next week? Because if I could, I would be ordering a copy of x86 OSX the day it was released.SuperMegatron wrote:These things can boot windows too. It just seems strange that Windows can freely be installed on a Mac, but Apple refuses to allow OSX to be installed on any system.
Actually, I guess it does make sense since they would practically be pushed out of the hardware industry if people could build their own computer and just use their software. Not that they couldn't fall back on the iPod, but still.
