Ive been playing guitar for about a two years, and the controller looks like you only get 5 buttons, meaning nothing like real guitar.

I'm not really sure, but it requires crazy ass finger work up there, and even if it's not really like hitting actual notes on the guitar, being able to do that crazy crap has got to amount to something.
I certainly couldn't have ever dreamed of some of the mad fingerwork I've been able to pull off.
But oh my god, using the whammie bar on longer notes ups your "star points." When you get enough of them, you play the guitar vertically like some sort of crazy badass and unleash the fury to rack up the points.
This game has far surpassed my expectations, and I expected a lot, since I'm pretty into dance rhythm games (Samba, DDR, etc.)

I had a $250 budget this year (actually wound up being plenty).
Yeah, Guitar Hero is for PS2. I had to get the damn thing the day it came out, all the gamestores in town sold out the first week and haven't had any since...
That sucks too, because the game has more than convinced me that I need to get another guitar...

Guitar Hero manages to simulate the experience of playing guitar. Just imagine confining yourself to the top 5 frets of a guitar (and a good bit of playing can be done there) and not having to worry about hitting the correct string as well. As finger exercises, I can see Guitar Hero being excellent for an actual guitar player.

Let's see...
I received a tribal mask from my mom's trip to the Dominican Republic, a new Xbox controller and a really nice dress shirt from my girlfriend, a nice poker set from my girlfriend's parents, a case of Corona from her brother, a large bottle of Stella Artois from his girlfriend, $500 from one set of grandparents, $50 from my other grandmother, a really nice box cutter from my best friend, some DVD +Rs and a Corona gift set from my roommates.

I got...
$225, new shirts and pants, Family Guy Vol 3, Family Guy Movie, Family Guy Peter and Chicken fight scene, Family Guy clock, Seinfeld Season 6, Ford GT die-cast Jada model, Small Hpnotiq bottle, $50 at Best Buy, $10 at Hollywood video. Work also gave me a company bag with the logo and such, pretty nice.
I don't like getting gifts, I enjoy giving them though. I spent way too much this year though, about $750 on gifts.... I gave: Burnout Revenge, Sin City Book+Directors cut dvd, gun case, robe, diamond earrings (x2), lamb's wool slippers, Kitty Face, Resident Evil 4, Happy Bunny figures, autographed NIN poster, Bob and Tom CD. I think that's about it.

Once you play through most of hard, go back to Bark at the Moon on medium. You will complete it easily.GyroVorbis wrote:Bark at the Moon was the most crazy thing I've ever seen.toastman wrote:Have you tried Bark at the Moon yet?GyroVorbis wrote:Christ, I just beat Crossroads medium...
