Just go to Start - Run; type cmd (on XP, command on 98) and enter the route you have decompressed the files; e.g. cd C:\neo4all_aes-alpha\; then just type convertneo.exe nameofthegameyouwannaconvert.zipyogiandbooboo wrote:can someone please explain how to use that converter that is with this because im lost when it comes to cmd line stuff.

for the longest time i've been saying people here need to get up to speed on using dats (for Romcenter or clrmame pro)
take SVC for example, have you any idea how many different romsets there are for this game ?
(hacks, bootlegs, different dumps, decrypted, partially decrypted, AES and MVS)
loads
i was around during the release, and i have a single dir filled with 745MB of SVC roms (and they're all working roms).
unless someone starts making dats for this emu testing and use of will be largely problematic for almost everybody.
there are a whole host of DC emus virtually no one can use because the romsets are unknown.
compared with even an average arcade emulation site the attitude to romsets round here looks amaturish to say the least.
you can't approch neogeo emulation with statements like 'the correct rom is called svcplus.zip'
we need to be much more specific than that.

That's nice, but most of those games were already playable since they were released as CD games and in my opinion preferance should be given to the CD version of Neo Geo games since they are the ones that can be played legally.Segata Sanshiro wrote:OK, people here it is, i hope it is of use to you and to the developers of this incredible emu. Here's a list of Neo Geo games never released on the Neo CD with Segata Sanshiro's report following the games he tested, it'd be nice if people could specifically test these games:
Andros Dunos
Bang Bead
Blazing Star (large ROM, works with minor loading slowdown and no music)
Breakers Revenge
Bust-a-Move Again
Captain Tomaday
Chibi Marukochan Quiz
Eight Man (small ROM, works well)
Fight Fever
Flip Shot (small ROM, works well)
Ganryu
Garou: Mark Of The Wolves (large ROM, works with a lot of slowdown for loading) (there's already a very good version on the Dreamcast anyway)
Goal! Goal! Goal! (large(ish) ROM, works well with some slowdown for loading)
Gururin (small ROM, works well but has graphics glitches)
The Irritating Maze
King Of Fighters 2000 (already on the Dreamcast officially)
King Of Fighters 2001 (large ROM, does not work) (already on the Dreamcast officially)
King Of Fighters 2002 (large ROM, does not work) (already on the Dreamcast officially)
King Of Fighters 2003
King Of The Monsters
Kizuna Encounter
Legend Of Success Joe (small ROM, works well)
Magical Drop 3
Mahjong Bakatonosama Manyuki
Mahjong Minnasano Okagesamadesu
Matrimelee
Metal Slug X (large ROM, works well)
Metal Slug 3
Metal Slug 4
Metal Slug 5
Money Puzzle Exchanger
Neo Bomberman
Neo Geo Cup '98
Neo Mr. Do
Nightmare In The Dark
Panic Bomber
Pochi & Nyaa
Pop'n'Bounce
Prehistoric Isle 2
Puzzle De Pon!
Puzzle De Pon! R
Quiz Daisousa Sen
Quiz Meitentei Neo & Geo
Rage Of The Dragons
Samurai Shodown 5
Samurai Shodown 5 Special
Sengoku 3
Shock Troopers
Shock Troopers 2nd (large ROM, works with a lot of slowdown for loading)
Spinmaster (large(ish) ROM, does not work)
Stakes Winner 2
Strikers 1945 Plus
Super Dodgeball
Super Sidekicks 4
SNK Vs Capcom Chaos
Tecmo World Soccer '96
Waku Waku 7
Zed Blade (large(ish) ROM, works well)
Zupapa
As well as the following pirate or homebrew titles:
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Digger Man
Jockey Grand Prix
Neo Bubble Pop
V-Liner
Mikozero, your comment might be right in general, but I think in this case the different ROMsets don't matter as much because what's at stake is whether the MMU loading is working and that's not likely to vary between the slightly different ROMsets out there for these games.
EDIT: Sorry, I posted all this before I even checked the link, if I had done that sooner I would have seen that only a smaller list of games has optimized support in this release and all three games from that list that Segata Sanshiro tried work well. Pretty cool. Who's tried games with optimized support? I'm particularly interested in SNK Vs Capcom, if chui can get that game working well, it seems like it would be quite a feat.

Raster effects are unemulated, so any game using them won't work properly. Also, Sweater Fish, a good deal of the games you listed were MVS-only releases:
Bang Bead
Breakers Revenge
Bust-a-Move Again
Captain Tomaday
Fight Fever
Flip Shot
Ganryu
Goal Goal Goal
Gururin
The Irritating Maze
Money Puzzle Exchanger
Neo Bomberman
Neo Mr. Do
Nightmare In the Dark
Panic Bomber
Pochi & Nyaa
Pop'n'Bounce
Prehistoric Isle 2
Puzzle De Pon!
Puzzle De Pon! R
Shock Troopers
Strikers 1945 Plus
Super Dodgeball
Tecmo World Soccer '96
Zed Blade
Zupapa
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Digger Man
Jockey Grand Prix
Neo Bubble Pop
V-Liner
Check out this list here: for lists of MVS, AES and CD games. This is supposed to be an AES emulator.

I thought chui said he just called it Neo4All/AES because he liked the AES or something like that. Do you mean that this emulator won't work with games that didn't get released for the home system? There isn't even any difference between MVS and home ROMs, is there?
About the raster effects thing, what will games that used raster effects look like? Just a little flicker or something, right? Or will those games actually crsh or something? I think Metal Slug 2 uses raster effects and I finished that game using an earlier version of Neo4All (as does Metal Slug X, which has been reported as working pretty well with this new version).
