This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

The speed is somewhat lackluster. It doesn't run the included Commander Keen shareware fullspeed with the default frameskip. Then again, it might be because I'm running it over my BBA. More optimizations and such will greatly improve this. Even so, this emulator is a monumental feat!

I messed with Commander Keen a bit - if you change the cpu cycles and the frameskip it does get to an acceptable speed.

All the games that I tried could get to a playable speed with a bit of tweaking.

Very nice work GPF! :D

I'm curious, why do you have to modify dosbox.conf in order to mount the drives, run the programs, etc? What's stopping you from mounting the drives manually?

This is cool... I got my keyboard last week to play typing of the dead, now I can play dos games on dc.

I'm curious why you choosed not to use the lastest version of dosbox for the dc emulator.

/ram can be mounted as a virtual drive using the dreamcast memory as a ramdrive

mount b /ram

might need to reduce the ammount of memory used by the emulator in the dosbox.conf as well if the /ram drive is too big.
