2nd Annual Dream On Contest (Results Are In)

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Yeah. There's no restrictions on how many games you can enter.

Thank you.

Can we win more than one prize? (ie. in all 4 different contests, scherzo places 2nd. He takes all four 2nd place prizes)

ok - a few more questions popped up.

1) Can one game be entered in more than one category.

Yes. If the game fits the criteria for each category

2) When can the game be released?

For Contest tier 1:

A demo can be released at any time. However, it has to be significantly different from the contest version.

For Contest tier 2, 3, and 4:

The games don't have to be contest exclusive. Just make reference to it being released for the dream on contest.

The contest ends on Thursday. Since that's so close, I'm going to start the final entry process today. If anyone has a game they want to enter, send me a PM and I'll create an FTP account for you to upload your entr[y](ies).

They'll probably be posted a week after the deadline. They were posted about 2 or 3 weeks after the deadline last year, and I don't want that to happen again. I'll post the results here, dcemu.co.uk, consolevision, cagames, and at Dream On.

I thought Beats of Fighting had already been disqualified for using modified Art of Fighting sprites?

Yeah. But that doesn't mean it's still not an entry. It's just not eligible.

Much like Trampalien Gunmen was last year.

Will there be a presentation-page with screens and downloads of all participating games/emus soon? Or will judgement be done first?

DreamOn isn't going to formally release them(except for on the mag CD). It is up to the person who entered it to release it (or not).
