How do you make desktop wallpapers?

I'm using adobe photoshop CS and I'd like to learn how to make desktop wallpapers. Google brought me nothing but sites with downloadable wallpapers

umm

I don't really understand the question. You make an image of the size you want. Windows can use any image format, right? I don't think there's anything special you need to take into consideration.

What are you looking for in particular?

Just draw a picture, save it and set it as your wallpaper.

Doh! I just ahve to make the pixels my resolution right? Like 1280 by 1024?

lol, this is what I made. It's terrible, but I'm gonna work on it (there was more, but this one is better because the otehr one wasn't finished).

Well.. you should have it in the right aspect ratio. That would be 1/3.
