Not at all. I'd consider most of the rock music scene on the radio during the 90's to be alternative, i.e. Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, early Radiohead, ect.

I agree, i prefer rap or hip hop over other genres of music but i still respect them as an artist. To say that rappers have no talent is ridicolous because if they had no talent im sure rap music wouldnt be a 5 billion dollar a year market. What you may not realize is that just because rappers dont normally play instruments (atleast not well they are performing) they still have a lot of musical talent. a lot of rappers produce which takes a lot of talent, because not just anyone can make beats. Even if they didnt produce or do anything rapping alone is hard and if you think its just all talking about bitches , hoes , big screen tv's, and 40 oz's your wrong. Rappers come up with lines and metaphors most people couldnt come up with in a lifetime. If you need examples i can give you some.

Basically dont be an ignorant prick because you dont like rap music

People insulting rap music as a general genre is no different than hip hoppers insulting Emo as 'Pussy White boy music you can't even dance to."

It's a closemidned, unsupported argument, based on people's personal opinion's and tastes, of course MY opinion and taste is better than everyone elses.

I'll agree that close to 95% of all music is garbage.

It cant be defined. General statements like that all are just someones opinion and hold no truth. Any person involved with music is simply displaying their artistic talents in the way they feel most comfortable doing it. I personally dont like heavy metal but i understand that these people feel comfortable protraying whatever message they have in the way they do. Basically bottom line is you should even if you dont like someone you should respect that they are out there doing there thing and trying to offer something to people.
