Neverwinter Nights

Is this still worth getting into? I need something to play on the side. My main concern is if the online player base is still fairly large.

Its worth the $30, and the many singleplayer mods are amazing.

Considering that you can create your own adventures and its ever expanding resources I'd say it's good, but then again I can't stand most of the people I find online so I play offline all the time and can't really comment on the online user base. If you can you may want to wait and go straight for NWN2.

i bought it and tried to go online.. and i couldent realy find anyone to play with.. and the offline is mostly point and click diablo clone...

Well, if theres barely anyone online to play with, I'll skip it. Single player dosent really do it for me.

Why not download something like The All Seeing Eye and check how easy it would be to find a game?
