Iris 3D

Post by Imerion »

I have known vaguely about the Iris 3D engine for quite some time but recently i stumbled upon the sourceforge page and I also downloaded some examples. It seems to be a very capable 3D engine. So I wonder, how good is it? It seems to have loads of features. Also, if it is that good, why are there so few people using it?

Ultimately, the reason why Iris3D is so grossly underused is because 3D games require more time and resources than simple 2D games as you often see being released on the DC.

Besides, I thought Iris3D was dead.

Ah, thats interesting. A second version! Seems the old one has a lot to give though. I plan on starting a project even though Im not especially good at C yet. I can make textures and 3d models quite good though. Perhaps I should move this thread to the DEV-section to get some more detailed info about the engine...
