dreamamp better than the other mp3 player?

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

see the only good thing about dreamamp
is that it let u swap discs

the good thing about dcmp3 was that it lets u put JPEG pics in the cd too so u can view pics while u jam or just create a new background to enjoy
no disc swapping though

divix also supports mp3 so its now up to you what u want to use

actually dreamamp supported .jpgs as well, you could even queue them with mp3s so as you play music it changes jpgs between songs.

DCDivx has the best MP3 player available for Dreamcast. The only thing that sucks is that it doesn't have a playlist function (yet).

No no no no no no no no!!!!!!

Dreamsnes has the best mp3 player!!!!

It has a basic light show (better than just the loading movie background), loads songs a lot faster, displays most artist info, and very rarely crashes when playing mp3 files.
Need a Treamcast, Dreamcast modchip, HUGE DC memory card, ASCII-like DC fighter pad, or Saturn Gameshark with tons of backup memory? PM me.

DCDivx does not support long file names for MP3's, or does it?

DCDivx supports long mp3 file names, but if they're too awful long you won't be able to see the full filename. I usually use:

<track number> <songname>.mp3

and that displays fine.

Wow, really? I read that the movies could only be named in 8.3 format. Is this still true? Or did beta 3 add long file name support or something?

Nope. DCDivx is still 8.3 format. But guess what isn't? DSNES.

See, I find that dsnes still occaisionally crashes on songs, but mainly on the same songs that crash in dc divx. Fewer crash in dsnes.
