Oh I can try to do the icons. There are only 4 icons, right? Load, VMU, Config, Credits. Is that all?Lyris wrote:Most of the work I can do right now on the menus is all done.
With the exception of icons. I'm terrible at those.
Lets see what can I do
Hey BA, just a question. Can I make animated icons? (they turn animated when user select the icon)
Thanks for remind me about this topic Chris

Well I'm busy right now, too much work to do etc.
I'll try to make them as soon as I can (maybe using a 3D render to look more professional). I just need more free time.

I'm doing exams, actually. I've just got past the "assignment hell" part of the semester, where every single subject has at least one assignment due in the same week, and I'm smack in the middle of the exam block. So no significant work is going on here at the moment. I get distracted too easily - if I were working on it, I'd forget to do any revision.
The menu code is based on the same back-end I've been building for the Basic interpreter, and is going to be written mostly in Basic (like NesterDC SE is written in DreamScript). I already have some bits and pieces of it working properly and rigged up to GP/DC's code. All I'd really need to do is release the Basic code that's going to run the menus, and let people play around with it using the PC version of the Basic interpreter.
Also, whatever I release will probably suck. Placeholder graphics, crappy animations, and so on. I might not even make it generally available - no point really. It's only interesting to people who want to develop themes.
Actually... that was the plan. Primarily to give something to the artists to play around with. I wasn't going to have the full art in there - just a basic (crappy) set of images that could be replaced. That way, artists actually have something that works to play around with.I guess he's working on the menu but I just couldn't imagine that he'd spoil the surprise with releasing a PC mock-up...
