Where did DCGrendel disappear to? He had an article on "Building a DC-PC Serial Cable (using SVideo or VGA/RGB/SCART cables)"
But it was lost forever when his site went down. Boob.co.uk had linked directly to the document. So, I am trying to find the article but no luck =/

I just hunted through archive.org, unfortunately that page seems to have escaped.

Same thing here.

I find it funny that archive.org says there was a backup, but when one clicks it, it says it doesn't exist. As for DCGrendel, might he have changed his name?

DCGrendel's not a active member anymore. Sometimes he ends up in IRC. Apparently he's doing XBOX stuff now, but I may be wrong.

His Consolevision site is still up but whether the information you're looking for is still there or not, I'm not sure.

DCGrendel also is the author of DreamInducer

Too bad no one seems to have the source codes for DreamInducer anymore...

All I would love to see changed is that annoying "START exits the program thing" and maybe animated GIF support.

Also, music playback in the menus would be really really nice. Just S3M would be excellent. The Start button thing though...yeah, that's got to go.

The source I'd really like to get off of DCGrendel, though, would be Dream Hakker. From what I understand he already had a more advanced version than what's out there now (1.4beta4, I think it is) and, man, there's just so many places that app could go. I suppose it wouldn't be terribly hard to just recreate it from scratch...

He doesn't have the source to any of it. I asked him yesterday. He said burnerO should have that shit.

And for the how to, he "seems" not to have it but that's ok.

He did give me a brief example of how to do it.

(Summed up how-to)
For the cable:
1) Cut 2 pins off
2) Bend the metal rim of the connecter

For the serial interface:
(This version doesn't need a MAX chip!!)

BurnerO has not. Do a search on the sbiffy.com forums, there was a topic regarding updates of SBInducer where he mentioned he asked DCG for it too.

I believe BA mentioned that he might have a copy of the source somewhere, but I don't think he's ever had a chance to look for it. DCG lost all of it in a computer crash a long time ago, and I'm not sure if burnerO ever had it. There were a select few coders that had copies of the source, but I don't know if any of them still have it or if any of them are still involved in the scene.

Believe me - we put out the call on numerous occasions for anyone that might have the source.

@drybed - a day late and a dollar short, I'm afraid, since LyingWake pointed that out near the beginning of this topic.

I looked (quite a while ago, actually), but didn't find it. However, I'm absolutely sure that I've seen the source code for DreamInducer. I distinctly remember reading through bits of it.

It might still be on a backup CD somewhere. I have a lot of them.

depending on what menu's you're talking about, I wrote them. The menu system in Gamer's Quizmania, and stuff that came after that was from me.

Well, I am not sure if I expressed it correctly - I was basicly referring to the intros and meant e.g. the SGA releases.

So you did those menus (for the emulation related releases)?! The source code has been ported by Warmtoe...

What exactly contributed IMR to 'his' releases then!?
