OpenBOR Xp?
Is there anyway to run OpenBOR properly on XP?
So far I've encountered two problems:
- Poor quality sound, sound effects are mostly fine but the music plays horribly with skipping and low quality
- Key Input Delay, randomly through gameplay the keys will stick or key presses will be delayed for awhile; the only way to fix this is by pressing the start button but that's only a temporary fix.
Otherwise everything is fine, why isn't there a windows port? DOS is SO out-dated. :|

Oh right, I've tried it with DOSBox but I gave up after waiting 10 minutes for the horrible loading times; so that's out.

That's because in dos, it's only looking for files that have 8 characters. That's why a lot of my music files and well everything in my mods are 8 characters long. Unfortunately win2000 and xp wasn't spared when it comes to dos compatibility woes. Actually I have been using dosbox but it has just as the same loading times as xbox. Time after time, I go back to dos for debug and timing on my cinematics and stuff. I did try vdmsound too but bor doesn't work with it for some reason, i try to start it up with vdmsound and it crashes before it starts. Well at least I can fix the music and sound effects problem.
If you've got an ass, I'll kick it!

First, sorry for bumping a old topic like this.
But this days i decided to try some BoR mods, and choose Tails Final Fight.
I had a terrible surprise, posted at BoRRevolution's Openbor boards, but without replies
I d/led Tails Final Fight pc version and Nightwarriors demo mod. But i coudn't get DarkBORTURBO+.exe to run.
All i get is:
I run windowsXP SP1, celeron 2.4KHz 128MB DDR machine.
Today, i tryed the last OpenBor.exe and get the same error. Original bor works as expected, win32 bor also.
Some hint?
Thanks.
