One of the greatest RPGs ever, no question about it! Two thumbs up!

The DC versionwas good, despite too many random battles. How is the GC version? Is it atcually different enough to warrant buying?

I love your enthusiasm man

This game was perhaps the most fun I've ever had in an RPG (Next to The Legend of Zelda of course). My only grip about the game is the constant random battles, but the story is so well told and has such lovable characters that there should be a SEQUEL DAMMIT!

As for the Gamecube version, reviews have stated that Skies of Arcadia Legends has about 10 to 15 more hours added into it, due to the addition of new characters and minigames. The random battle problem is still present on the Gamecube.

More exp per battle and less battles. A new character and story for that character. I believe theres a new city also. One downside is they dummied it down for a Everyone release insteed of the Teenage rating. You drink Milk and they say darn and what not.

Ohh btw Legend of Zelda is not a rpg.
The orginal ones are Action Adventure games
The new ones are Action Adventure Platform.
Zelda 2 is a Action RPG slide Scroller.

I like Record of Lodoss War better. More diablish style than the random battles that you deal with Skie of Arcadia.

Nonono... all Zelda games are action RPGs (except that one for CD-I that is a pure platformer). Flashback, Out of this World, the early Prince of Persia games, and Blackthorne are action adventures.

Oh, and hard to believe they have dummied Skies of Arcadia even more! Milk?! And I thought locqua (liquor) was pretty ridiculous...

When I played this game I thought that Fina would die like Aeris in Final Fantasy7 but Vyse stayed with both girls.

I love the special attacks. My favorite was the last special attack for Vyse, Fina,Aika, and the Valuan Prince (I forgot his name)

No your just a idiot.

No ATB or TBB then its not a rpg.
Zelda also doesnt have HP or MP
Its lacking all the elements of a RPG
Also missing level gaining
You can also read the box which say action adventure(Believe the Japanese N64 boxs)

And dont mention hearts those dont count

Zelda and all similar games - Soulblazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma, Secret of Mana, Crusader of Centy, Beyond Oasis - have always been referred to as action RPGs. Now, this does not mean they are a mix of action and RPG; they simply are action RPGs - a separate genre by itself.

Now looky here, kid... the Zelda series DEFINED the standard of action RPGs. To tell if a game is an action RPG, you just have to ask: "is it like Zelda?" It is absurd to say the quintessential action RPG is not an action RPG!

Did you read what I had written, dummy? An action RPG is NOT a mix of action and RPG. It is a separate genre by itself.

Agree with Stormwatch. He's correct, there's just no two ways about it. Zelda is an RPG through.

RPG=Role Playing Game. You play the role of Link, saving Princess Zelda, gaining more equipment along the way "leveling" up in the form of more health etc.

And Zelda does have MP.
Very sexy hero, omg

stormwatch why do you always talk off-topic? Why don't you make a topic about Zelda?

I have a question about Skies of Arcadia. In the wind world. When you talk to the other ships, one of them says that he was frighten by another ship . I tried to find that ship but I could not find it. I checked in Gamefaqs but didn't find anithing. I'll verify again to give you more specific info.

I was just correcting Clessy's incorrect statement. By the way, I forgot to mention a relevant detail: an action RPG, in 2D, can be either vertical or horizontal (side-scrolling). A good example of the latter - other than the obvious (and sub-par) Zelda 2 (the only game that Clessy classified correctly) - is the excellent Monster World IV for the Genesis.
