Cheap Computers?
My buddy wants to get a desktop computer, but he only has about $400 to spend. He won't be doing a lot of gaming, so graphics aren't really a big deal. He is going to need everything, mouse, keyboard, speakers, moniter, etc.
Any recommendations?

Thats a heck of a deal, but there's not a circiut city for hundreds of miles of here. The reviews for it were interesting....about 1/2 were excellent, and the other half said it was poor quality.Random_Troll wrote:http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/eMachine ... tDetail.do
Thought this was funny though:
There isn't another computer out there that comes even close to the perfomance this baby gives. I am a gamer so i know what i'm talking about. Doom 3 runs better than anything i've ever seen. Highly Recommend!!!

It says free shipping for orders over 25$. But yeah. My dad has that system. He uses it for web and email. It works pretty well I never ran into any problems when I used it.hearld500 wrote:Thats a heck of a deal, but there's not a circiut city for hundreds of miles of here. If he can get used to Linux, I'd go with one of those that Roofus linked to, or else go for that one that SuperMegatron linked to and then install Linux on it. Most of the popular Linux distributions have all the software you'll need to get online, do word processing, etc. Pick up a used monitor from Goodwill or wherever, and you're all set.
