Favorite Saturn games

Post by rbenchley »

Since BlueCrab is making further progress with his Saturn emulator, I thought I'd start a topic for everyone to discuss their favorite Saturn Games. My top ten as follows:
  • 1. Panzer Dragoon Saga
    2. Shining Force III
    3. Albert Odyssey
    4.Shining the Holy Ark
    5. Virtua Fighter 2
    6. Sega Rally
    7. Magic Knight Rayearth
    8. Saturn Bomberman
    9. Radiant Silvergun
    10. Soul Hackers
Honesty may be the best policy, but it's important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy.

probably world series baseball, virtua fighter 2, sega rally, sonic R, Nights, Duke 3d, doom port, hexen, daytona usa, panzer dragoon 2 zwei (probably the rarest game i own, complete with case and instructions), virtua cop 2, some pinball game..., , nascar 98, etc, etc, etc. (in no paticular order),

i could go on but that's about it. although the emulator is probaby a little more legal then sega's leaked one (link maybe?), im not sure i would use it since playin them on the saturn is 100x better then playin them on the computer via an emu.

I probably won't use the emulator very much as I own an actual Saturn, but it gladdens my heart for two reasons:
1. Blue Crab is pulling off a serious cool coding feat. The Saturn's internals are a uge complicated mess, and getting the Dreamcast to show even the BIOS screen is a sight to see.
2. Anything that renews interest in the Saturn can only be a good thing. The Saturn got so little love here in the States, that I love it everytime someone starts up a new Saturn emulator project. It's another opportunity for the masses to get to know the wonder and delight that is the Saturn.
Honesty may be the best policy, but it's important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy.

that would be probably one of the only reasons i would use it to, if he somehow managed to also emulate the netlink adapter...

but rather than doing that, why doesnt someone try tunneling the netlink thing like the dc, xbox, gc, ps2, ds, psp, etc.....

no tunnle program for the dc exists that i know of i think they had like 2 games that have lan.

i dunno if they could tunnel saturn netlink games if so that would eb awesome beacsue they have like 2 or 3 other netlink gams that are from japan but the japanese netlink worked different it wa smore like sega net type thing the netlink required credit card in japan, so they are not compatible with the usa netlink :(

Christmas Nights (which I still had it)
Nights
Daytona USA original (The newer version had crap controls I thought)
Panzer Dragon Zwei (wish I had it still)

Thats really about it. There are other games I liked on it, but they are available on other consoles.
