really? Thats strange. Did you change the powerpack? I placed a small drop of cpu coolant onto the chips when I did it. I tested shenmue 2 for quite a few hours and I had no ill affects.
Also I never ran it on a carpet. It was always on a wooden shelf with no obstructions near the fan.
I know this sounds odd, but obvously its going to be warmer where you are and the ambient temperature might be causing an effect.
TER2 might also work the DC harder than shenmue2
A good idea might be to get one of those extra fans of liksang, they are well cheap and that will help (I was pondering getting one but after my test it seemed ok).
glad it got there in one piece.

yea I swapped the PSU with PAL 240VAC one and no it's sitting on the metal shelf with about 15mm gap between its bottom and the shelf - I put the leg extender at four cornors. I do have lik-sang fan although lost the AC adaptor thing years ago...
maybe I need to run wire inside to tap the DC power from PSU?
By the way if I take the metal shield inside apart do I risk wires might coming loose or something? I've been thinking of the same cooling pipe setup the Japanese guy has done... or put the cooling fax at the side if the case but that will look like s*it... also although using CD-X on VGA works fine I might add the mod chip down the tarck as I'm not a big fan of swapping disc...
I must say pretty impressive stuff...
how long did it take you to complete this one?
cheers

Removing the metal shield is a delicate operation. The wire is connected to a very small pin, even though the Connection is good, I would stray away from jolting it If you want to chip it, just be really carefull when removing the board, and replacing it.
My mate has a liksang fan for his std DC, the powerpack is 12V 100mA
The jap guy had an old DC which had the pipes in it. You cant fit pipres to a new DC as it requires a totally different motherboard (I have an old pipes machine). Also the metal casing is a differnt shape.
Definately go for the external fan, that should do it.
Glad it works with VGA, Ive got a VGA box on its way (got one for ?2.99). It took me a month to get it all up and running (Sourcign the parts was a real pain). However Im really glad its gone to an enthusiast who will use it (i would eb interested in knowing games which you have tried).
When I get the time and money I might have another go (with the VGA overclock) but my mate is away for months and I really dont have the time.

hmm just played Crazy Taxi 2 JPN and didn't see any slow down at all... in fact the game is dame too fast...TheWanderer wrote:Try Crazy Taxi! I'm sure you know of the mad slowdown that occurs in certain places (just past the harbour, for one, in that park w/ the ramp and the cafeteria across the street). I'm interested if that's gone now.
