Lately, my favorite band to listen to has been Bad Religion. Something about the way they mix a catchy, harmonious chorus with scathing social commentary just works.
A non-comprehensive list of other bands that I really can't get enough of includes:
Black Sabbath (pre-Technical Ecstasy, plus Heaven and Hell)
Zao (their new album rocks)
Shadows Fall (ditto)
Overcast (Shadows Fall singer Brian and Killswitch Engage bassist Mike came from this band.)
Misfits (Glenn Danzig era - some of the 'fake' Misfits stuff is listenable, but it isn't the same.)
Samhain
Sheer Terror
Dissolve (the best metal band to ever come out of Poughkeepsie NY - if you're in the area, they've got a reunion show on 11/26 at the Loft in Poughkeepsie, NY.)
Needless to say, I listen to quite a mix of metal and punk.

Whaddya think about Death Cab?
Of course I've only heard the Transatlanticism album, but it's one of my favorite albums ever. If I can find a local store around with more of their CDs then I'm definatly buying.

Most of Zao's back catalog. Daniel Weyandt has the best voice in metal, period.arcticfeather wrote:More recently after getting their album Zao just bought another of their albums and will probably work my way through their back catologue
