Walk Of Game : Video Game Land Mark
Today, the "Walk of Game" was announced. The "Walk of Game" is going to be a landmark at the Metreon in San Francisco. The "Walk of Game" will honor the best and the brightest in video gaming and signify the impact they've had on worldwide entertainment.
Between October 1 and October 31, those visiting http://www.walkofgame.comcan cast their votes in the categories of "Game/Character" and "Lifetime Achievement". The top four games/characters and the top two lifetime achievers will be inducted into Walk of Game and have a 24"x24", customized, brushed-steel star installed on the floors of Metreon. The results of the nominations are to be announced in November, with the official ceremonies to be scheduled in 2005.
The mastermind creator of Shenmue (and other big titles like Virtua Fighter), Yu Suzuki, is a nominee for the "Lifetime Achievement" award. Being more than deserving, I encourage you all to throw in a vote for him.
Lifetime Achievement Nominees:
Nolan Bushnell (Pong)
Shigeru Miyamoto (Donkey Kong, Mario, and Zelda)
Sid Meier (Pirates!, Red Storm Rising, and F-19 Stealth Fighter)
Will Wright (Sim City and The Sims)
Yu Suzuki (Outrun, Shenmue and Virtua Fighter)

It's truely a shame that Halo is getting more votes than The Legend o Zelda.
...let's see....the greatest video game series of all time, that's been around for 15+ years, spanning 10+ games...an instant classic and a game that influences design to this day.
versus some crappy First-Person-Shooter that's like every other damn game on the market.
You people that voted for Halo wouldn't know a classic if it Shot you in the leg.

Indeed, it is quite a shame that Halo is topping the list. While by no means a poor game, compared to likes of Zelda, Mario, Sonic, among others, Halo just doesn't stand up. I honestly believe Goldeneye to be a better game than Halo.
Probably all the Halo fanboyz who consider the PS1 old-skool.

Dreamcast: It's thinking. And it thinks you suck.

No way. Shigeru Miyamoto is a legend.BILAL_XIA wrote:Yu Suzuki ( I don't find anyone as creative as him 2 have a second vote I would've voted for the nintendo dude but he has to many votes then he deserves)
He's created too many genres of games to count. His games are the most copied games by other developers. When you create a game, your games are judged by the games that Shigeru Miyamoto created.
The same could be said of Yu Suzuki of course, but it all comes down to this:
I love Suzuki-san, but Miyamoto-san is my idol.

Would have known you'd throw a shoutout to Al Lowe.Phantom wrote:That's it? What about people like David Crane, Jeff Minter, Al Lowe etc.?
But yeah, both Lowe and Minter deserve a nomination - as well as Roberta Williams, Ron Gilbert, and Tim Schafer.

Yeah. But David Crane should definitely be on that list, based on Pitfall! alone.MetaFox wrote:Would have known you'd throw a shoutout to Al Lowe.Phantom wrote:That's it? What about people like David Crane, Jeff Minter, Al Lowe etc.?

timesplitters is a lot of fun, hilarious even.
Let's face it, north america has gone to hell, we should all take up japanese and move to the east if you ask me.
I bet the xbox kinda reminds me of the 3do in a way except for the fact that it's affordable. Funny part is that the only way for it to be arffordable is if microsoft loses massive amounts of money on it.

how many years has time splitters been around does it have a sequel what has it done that made it so legendary but if halo can make it sure add time splitters
I'm gonna agree with mat's excitement towards TS2 in this thread. It's a bloody hiliarous game at times. It's one of the best FPS I've played, and I don't really love them all that much. It's only 2nd to GoldenEye for me. With Perfect Dark a close 3rd. Maybe even a tie for TS2 (undecided).Erm TimeSpittlers2?
You ever played it?
And considerring it *is* called TS2, yes it has a sequel
In fact there's another one coming soon called FuturePerfect or something like that. I for one can't wait until it comes out
/me loves Free Radical
TS2 and Second Sight has a lot of things in common, gfx wise, but they're so different. And I still love 2nd Sight. I decided to through that game in because of all this TS2 talk
