LED Lights

Post by TheWanderer »

Hi, new user here. :) I've been around Dreamcasthistory (as einbebop44) for a few months now, but I've just become interested in console modding.

Which leads us to the question at hand.

I have a few questions about LED lights, which have probably been answered before, but anyway, here they are:

1. First and foremost, where I can get LED lights that I can use on my DC, Xbox, etc. Will any do? Where can I buy them?

2. Will I need to install anything else for the additional LEDs to work?

Thanks for the help. I'm in the planning process of a few sweet mods that include airbrush jobs, so the help is appreciated. :P

all you need to do is run down to your local radio shack to find some leds. and as for powering them you should be able to just connect them to the psu (power source unit) of the console.

Alright, thanks. If I was to add a stupid-crazy amount of lights would I have to add another source of power? Thanks. =)

You'll need the right ressistor and the right voltage LED

Yea go there and stay away from radio shack for LEDs. Radio Shack charges 5 bucks for 1 LED when you could get 5 or 6 (depending on color) from lsdiodes. If you can, I'd say go on ebay. Theres a few ebay stores that sell packs of LEDs for wicked cheap.
