Another Crazy Peripheral...

I was bored today, so I started randomly clicking the content-feed ads on the DCEmu main page. Anyway, one took me to eStarland--a site I've heard of but never been to before--and I came across this curiosity:

Now, I love crazy-ass obscure stuff like this, and learning about how such departures fit into the historic timeline of the video game industry. And I'd like to believe I've built up at least some modicum of knowledge on console history (particularly in regard to SEGA and Nintendo). However, I've NEVER HEARD OF THIS THING BEFORE IN MY LIFE! ...Does anyone else have information on this oddity?

Crazy yet very cool. So being online geting phone calls so you only need one line. type of modem on hold thing. Great stuff would of been neat. You ISP has to support modem on hold for it to work. Many dont.

Still that is rare never seen it till i clicked.

This rare Dreamphone was only available through Sega's D-Direct. This Phone allows you to receive phone calls through your Dreamcast durring gameplay.

Durring gameplay... That's awsome.
