Any possible problems with this?
Ok so i just did the modem LED mod, and to get it to fit in the plastic case i took out a piece of the heat shielding. Does anyone think this should matter? By the way I took off the piece thats closet to the plastic not the one thats close to the extension plug.

I think the shielding is more for RF interference than heat, as modern modem chipsets don't generate a tremendous amount of heat. Just taking out a small piece shouldn't be a problem AFAIK.

its anti interference shielding, taking it out may cause the modem to malfunction, or in a worst case scenario, it might cause your DC itself to flip once the modem is turned on, due to interference caused by the modem
