ljsdcdev Project L (aka, yabause-dc)

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Cool. Here's the real question - can it run any code yet?

I haven't been here in ages, but I'd just like to say that I'm amazed that someone has actually started work on a console Saturn emulator.

I don't really play my Dreamcast since modding my Xbox, but if this gets anywhere, it'll be worth it just for Nights and Guardian Heroes.

Keep up the good work and most importantly, have fun making the emulator.

I'll try to have fun... not sure if I will have much fun with it though :) (just kidding). And thanks again to everyone for your support.

Right now, I'm having a little bit of trouble with my dynarec, it seems to be going out of the bounds that I put it in, so, its not working right now....

Right now, I'm not. I'm letting the interpreter deal with it for now.

just a question bluecrab: What is your aim for this emu? Do you have any plan or idea of how far will it ever go and what it'll be capable of?

This is just out of my curiosity, no pressing involved

karsten: I'm not sure what my aim is. I think it might be just to prove that Saturn emulation of any speed is possible on the Dreamcast. It started out just being a challenge, now I'm not sure...

I bet you can achieve a playable status on some games / demos. Don't give up so soon.

Oh, I'm not giving up, no far from it, actually.... I'm reading up on Dynamic Recompilation to attempt it again, but my other projects are also jumping in the way (and at least one will help me out with yabause-dc, I hope).

Okay, time for an update:
I have the yabause-0.0.6 source compiling and running on the dreamcast now, and well, its slow, but it works :)

Here's some new screenshots:

I have one more screenshot so far, and thus, without further ado, I present it to you.
