GBA Port

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Has anyone tried Super Game Boy games? I'm wondering if Super Game Boy borders and graphics are supported.

The super game boy was an adapter for the super nes that made it possible to play first generation game boy games (The First GB) The borders that showed on screen were coded into the adapter itself, except for certain games that came with built in themes.

However I would think you would have to emulate the Super Game Boy itself (the adapter) into the GBA emulator to get this effect.

Then again I could be wrong, as I am not a programmer.

The dreamcast really is a wonderful piece of hardware that has never, in the years that I have had it, ceased to amaze me. Great job guys

VisualBoyAdvance is able to display the borders on games that had the built-in themes so that's why I was asking. VBA doesn't display any borders on games without their own themes.

No, but I'll try a lot of GBC games within the next days!

I'll give a report. For my little 1st test report of VTA32 have a look here:

GPF is on vacation for a couple weeks right now. So it won't be relased at least until he comes back. At least that gives all of us beta testers some time to catch up on the latest release, so we can let you know how it's going, and report any bugs to GPF. After that, GPF is the only one that can really tell you when it will be released to the public.

I read a while back that a GBA emulator for the dreamcast was impossable. I am so glad that yall have prove them wrong!

Has anyone tested any RPG games with this version of VTA32?

This emulator will make my DC the best game system ever.
Who would think that one system could emulate evey game system I own or have owned of the years. Playing my Atari 2600 games again has brought a tear to my eye. And made my wife as whats wrong with those graphics? That tank looks like a square?

Thanks
Keep up the good work.

If the beta gets leaked, it won't be done by me. I would fear that leaking the beta would cause GPF to halt work on this thing.

In all seriousness, you will all be pleased with this emulator. Troy is going the best route in my opinion, and making it as good as possible for a first release. And, it's quite good already.
