reading SBI cds in a PC..
i got a new computer recently.
my old computer is currently not in the same place as i am - it wouldn't be terribly difficult to get to it, but it'd be inconvenient.
anywho, i didn't bother backing up my roms and such because i figured, i can just rip them off the CD that's currently in my dreamcast.
turns out, a PC cd drive can't properly read the CD? uh oh. looks like i'll have to legally reacquire them all again...
does anybody know how to make a CD (with the image compiled in selfboot inducer, and burned in alcohol 120%) readable in a PC?
much appreciated.

What do you mean it's not readable? It should be. You should be able to see every file on the disc.

if you use sbinducer to make a .cdi or .nrg image, then it uses a tool called bin2boot to make an image. you can open the image in isobuster fine, but once burned to a cd, most cd drives cant read it. some can. looks like you and i have cd drives that cant read them.
if you try to read the cd in isobuster, it will say something like, could not find PVD...???
you're just gonna have to get the roms from somewhere and use cdrecord next time in sbinducer.

So, basically what you learned is that you can take the CD and make an image of it with DiscJuggler, and then get at the files that way with ISOBuster?Hobbes T Tiger wrote:http://www.dcemulation.org/phpBB/viewto ... highlight=

That's a good idea, and I'd think it should work with Nero as well for those of us who don't use DJ. Give that a try.
