NeoGeo DC/CD SDL V8.1 update with fixes importain

Post by Ian Micheal »

Some importain fixes to this update it's a touch faster again so enjoy these were needed so you could fully enjoy it.

People will notice it's faster then v8.0 and it has the fixes it needs please enjoy this version.

It's going to take same time to get SFX code and the z80 fast enff for this to have fullspeed with SFX as it does now without SFX. Im working on the CDDA problem and i think i have a idea on what that is now.

Please re test games you will be suprized how much better they play now i would think. Thanks to all my testers.

V8.1
- Now will tell you to wait game is loading when it boots
- bug fix for code error forgot to add this in v8.0 (samurai spirits rpg)
- Region selector fix now works in this version
- Added compiler flags for speed not space
- Sfx added back in code to slow to use ( disabled but z80 is being called).
- touch faster little bit less slow down on metal slug1
- Region selector is turned on by holding in the start button now when you swap a cd in keep it held in then it will show up to change regions. Last time it was broken (sorry) .

http://www.imrtechnology.ngemu.com/ site now works again thanks to ngemu for the support and hosting.

Read the doc files and my site for all other changes and credit to people that work on and help this project

Mostly every game is now fullspeed with out SFX.

No SFX is not user selectable i did this so developers can uncomment the source and get working SFX if they might like to join the team and help out on the last bit to make this finshed.

Well i needed to i promised fosters i fix the error that i left out before my site went down. So this was as fast as i could do it. Also now it is more complete in source code, you only have to comment 3 lines to make the SFX work. So this will be helpfull for people working on it.

It's better then V8.0 by quiet a lot in some ways hope people do use this version over v8.0. I could have waited a few weeks but I dont like making people wait. When i can fix the problems and get the release out for the users of the project.

sorry, i didn't mean to be negative overall, i wouldn't have wanted to wait either, just bad timing on my part really to finally burn 8.0 a day before 8.1.

again, keep up the good work

No worrys. I self-boot every release, my self some times 2 times on this version i made 3 cd's of it. Each with a diffrent filter and some other options. On each disk. Every release i do i have made and do burn a self boot cd of. And test every game i have each time to make sure at lest it works those.

Some times there are stuff ups so i had to get the fix out so people can change the region and have a little bit more speed.

Metal slug 1 and 2 are faster on this release. You will notice it.

Well It is right now were almost there. And It's really enjoyable and easy to use right now. Has auto saving and loading not lacking any thing really but SFX sound. I have that working just have to optimize that very well and we should have a very good finshed emulator.

Till it's fullspeed no frameskip withSFX it will never be finshed. I will find a while some how.

Right now it has fullspeed no frameskip very smooth on games.

auto saving loading
full 2 player controls and keyoard support.
Grafix filters. makes it look better
CDDA sound stereo sound streaming from the cd's of the games.
Faster loading times.
Vmu icon and in the bios menu as well.

Etc pretty complete. Just SFX which on same games there is little to start with.

AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!!! None fo my games are slow! It's incredible. More than 8.0!! :kiss)

The games I have retest are:

- League Bowling (Fullspeed)
- Metal Slug (Fullspeed?)
- Puzzle Bobble (Fullspeed)
- Rally Chase (Fullspeed)
- Soccer Brawl (Near fullspeed)
- Super Sidekicks (This game have some slowdowns. I didn't realize)
- The King Of Figthers 95 (Near fullspeed!)
- Viewpoint (Now it is not as fast as in 8.0... the speed is perfect!, is fullspeed with no speedups!)

Yours,

PD: ?HAVE someone Fatal Fury to see if it's playable now?

I have a good feeling about this emu. With Stef.D's c68k core will be near the full speed with sfx, and there's also a z80 that hasn't been touched. This is amazing )()(

What about raster effects? People seems to be having problems in Super Sidekicks 2/3 . If I remember, this was the problem in early neorage but it was solved later on and it might have the correct code on MAME.
