Shenmue BOR?

Excellent, I am very happy someone is doing this!

As for the "game ripped" sprite idea, the scroll-view section of the game (you know, where you customize what moves you want for what commands) would work since it just loops Ryo's moves over and over, thus making it very easy to capture (especially without the camera going all over the place and just being a completely side view).

My only gripe is that the BOR version's framerate wouldn't be nearly as smooth, would it? Dah, well... who cares!!!

Sure it would! It all depends on the animation style of the modification author... as such, if kungpow12345 wishes to make this super-smooth, then you can be sure that it will be so!

I am thinking, actually, that a slightly less-smooth animation (such as US film framerate) could yield an interesting effect.

It was actually a very very time consuming graphic edit but I'm hoping to make the Shenmue moves from scratch so that they match the game itself. The character name is actually Billy Lee from

...I forgot the name of the game

And then for Ren, I'm going to be using Billy from BoR since it's pretty much him. As for as other characters, Braze and I haven't decided yet but we should have something storywise here in about a week or two. We are leaning toward the Shenmue Sidestories written by Yu himself and possibility, if this mod is a success, our "image" of Shenmue 3. Until then...stay tuned

Wow, Shenmue is my favorite Dreamcast game.... maybe my favorite game of all-time and Shenmue + BOR= GREATNESS!

Can't wait great job Kungpow... and Billy Lee is from Double Dragon the author of it (the BOR character) made it from Terry Bogard

To be honest Ryo wasn't that hard to edit, as the Billy Lee that 'Ghouly Mad Maximoff' made was pretty much Ryo re-incarnated.

I have just finished a bunch of characters for the gang named 'Black Dragons' (after the original name of Lan Di) who will play a large part in the sidestory.

Actually it's Braze's and my mod so I can't take all of the credit this time around, but thanks. I'm glad this mod is getting some good attention.

Yeah, I started working on the mod back when this thread was started as a 1 level throw-away thing. Then Kungpow showed interest in it and I thought to myself 'this could be bigger' so I PMed him and boom... that brings us here.

Heres an early screen of Ryo fighting a rough edit of Ryan (not the final design).

It looks like terry from the fatal fury/king of fighters game, im pretty sure it's him, his stance and kick looks like his.

Wow... That is impressive!! This modification is definitely shaping up quickly...

A question, though: Would this be for persons whom have already played through Shenmue (I/II), or, would it also be appropriate for those that haven't yet done so?

Also, speaking of which; for Chainfist & team... is Shenmue Zero still in the works? Only curious... You may say nothing if you are planning a surprise (or not)...

I guess you will need to know a little about the Shenmue story to understand the larger game, since Ryo will still be chasing Lan Di and if you have not played any of the games then you will have no idea why.
