This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.
probably the n00best thing i've asked in a long time .
never used gnuboy before, but from looking at the images (and author) it seems to be very similar in format to Nester - therefore, can i assume that like nester, it displays the files on the CD as-is, which would normally be ugly, but it allows spaces and the removal of file extensions, making it pretty again?
Christuserloeser wrote:Yes you can, I know that InsaneDavid had a tool created that allows spaces using RockRidge format based on UberJims Selfboot tool...
Rockridge has been implemented for the past thousand years in everything I've put out. It's not some magical parameter that was forgotten.
there was a program released somewhere along the line, a few years ago, that allowed you to colorize GB roms using a custom GBC pallete. for some strange reason, the only game this really caught on with was metroid 2. there are four or five color patches floating around on the internet, and some of them have a higher compatibility rate than others.
that's what i meant by metroid 2 colorized.
but good to know the oracle games work, anyway, and i'll be testing metroid 2 myself if i don't get any responses anytime soon.
wouldn't you know it, it's also the only color patch that comes as an executable rather than an IPS file. guess that goes to show how the presentation of something often speaks for the quality of it.
so how 'bout those file extensions??
P.S. - this was the first disc i burned using SBI v4, and the new theme is beautiful. just making it known to those of you who haven't seen it yet.
