DC Keyboard support should be easily added.
I'll see what I can do this evening.

By the way, what do you think about the emulator ?
Suggestions ? Bugs ??
Don't hesitate to give me your feedback !

I Just cant make a self boot of the emu! Ive never had any problems with any of these before. Can you check the 1ST_READ.BIN is ok? Also I dont suppose you have any special IP.BIN to use?

I use dssb anf Ive had 100% success for 3 years, but Im just burning coasters atm. :(

Hmmmm .... could the binary be the non scrambled (and non bootable) version ??? Maybe I have done an error somewhere. I'll check this evening as soon as I'm back at home.

I'll keep you updated.

_tyrell_

PS: qatmix, please could you use the scramble.exe program over my binary and tell me if it you can boot with it ??

I used the "selfboot.exe" program and it ran ok from first try. I tested the cd on my DC and no problem so far...

Which program are you using ?

i think selfboot.exe comes with an IP.BIN, and unless tyrell used a special IP.BIN its more likely it will work with it.

Yes, selfboot.exe comes with an IP.BIN file.
If you want to try selfboot anyway, you are almost 100% sure it will correctly work (it worked for me).

Ian Micheal wrote:The one in the emu looks more correct colour wize.
Not sure what you mean Ian. :? I did the artwork - and the Speccy rainbow should be red, yellow, green then light blue but its become dark blue, pink, red and yellow/green.

Does anyone know how to fix this for the next release?

I'll see what I can do for the colours ... strange anyway. Maybe it's a photo problem ?

Who has tested the emulator here ? Can you confirm the colours are "crap" ? I'm pretty sure the colours were allright ... hmmm ....

I've tested the emu, but I'm color-blind, so I can't really help. However, I will tell you from my experience with DreamInducer themes, that the colors can really become distorted when they go from being on your computer to being on your TV.

Yes when i tried amending the Loading pic for DreamInducer it always came out in the wrong colour. I had no idea why as I successfully altered altered the main bg to look like this:

well i've tested this now and some things i found
jetpack (one of the best games) the sound disapears when i use this game, i'm using a snapshot file, then the sound is gone for anything else i load after. ?
also whats with the border flashing all the time, the only way to get rid of it seems to be full screen mode, then everything is stretched and just doesnt look right.
atic atac runs good , but is the emu running at 60hz ? it just seems to fast, can't it be put into 50hz pal mode somehow, and get it to look like a real spectrum running ?

also its such a pain to do all the setting up of the game keys, could there be a way of using a config file stored on the cd for each game to set up the keys automatically at start that you make before you burn the cd for the games you know the keys for, i could do a lot of configs for the best games cos i know which keys they use, or would this require too much rewriting of code ?

also there needs to be a way of loading tap files better than typing in load "" etc. i'm gonna have to change all my taps to snapshots for ease of loading. but since you've got keyboard emulation this isnt to big a problem.

about keyboard emulation, this is a must for this even though i prefer using the joypad, it would be much easier to use and setup with keyboard emulation

and also i didnt notice an option for using kempston joystick ?

this could end up being the best spectrum emu if some of these things get sorted, its already the best 128k emu, but ZX-Ishspectrum is still best for 48k at the moment due to it being PAL and running at the correct speed and screen size, but i hope you carry on with this and make it better than ZX-Ishspectrum, for a first release it is really very good. and i'm looking foward to newer releases.

i've also had it freeze on a few occasions, and the green button reset really needs changing to a 2 button reset.

hope you don't mind my comments, they all seem to be complaints, but i'm really pleased you're doing this.

thanks tyrell for your work :D
