Optimizing gaming experience
How can I use DreamSnes to it's max. potential? What do i need to at least make games playable? Is there any programming i can do to optimize dreamsnes?
don't fight over console differences. just go and buy 'em all!

from the default settings, the only performance related things you should play with are sound and transparencies. leave CPU optimization, mode7, etc., alone.
generally, keeping either sound or transparency off results in a pretty solid, 80% speed experience with most games - stay away from mode7 (fzero, mario kart) or super FX (star fox, yoshi's island) games, though. with both off, you can get 95-100% speed on several games (smash TV, lemmings, megaman x, super punchout).
i usually play with sound on and transparency off, unless i come to a point where transparency is necessary (maridia in super metroid, launch octopus in megaman x), and turn sound off to compensate.
