homebrew (not BOR)

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Eco's Quest. I love that game. Its a platform with slight resemblence to Mario.

yeah, but is it homebrew good, or good good?

i mean, my standards are lower than something i'd be spending money on, because i'm mainly just trying to bulk up my SBI disk with something other than nester, dsnes, sms, neocd, and beats of rage, rather than actually spend money on something, and...

nevermind. i'll just get the stupid game.

sidenote: where can i get some DC dance pads cheap for FoF?

We have had this discussion on Sbiffy! before. Go to THIS LINK for some thoughts on good homebrew games. It's a little old, so there have been a few additions since then (such as Inhabitants), but it might be a good place to start.

I'm pretty sure DCHomebrew had a recent update. That's a good place to look. It's possible they might be missing one or two games, but I think just about everything is there.

thanks.

also:
i think smashDC would be a lot more valuable if smashTV wasn't one of the few games that ran really well on DSnes (with transparency off, but it's totally not needed in that game).

I agree with both of those statements. I have downloaded all of them and put them all on a disc together, and they really don't take up that much space. I don't even mind the fact that I can't play about 25% of them, because I don't have a keyboard. If only I weren't so absent-minded, I would remember which ones those are, and I would quit trying to play them over and over again. Stupid me.

There's nothing on the level of Beats of Rage. Every other homebrew game is either insanely boring, unfinished, or as buggy as hell.
