i heard a lot of alice before but i only saw some screenshots until now, they didnt make me want to try it.

then ive seen the ones you just posted and i was curious, i looked at the flash version of the site and i really like the atmosphere. if the gameplay is as good as the design then it will be a great homebrew game without any doubt :)

i suppose ill know it once the link will work again, the bin's link is broken

EDIT: nevermind, it has been fixed, or it was a temporary problem with the host or my isp, anyway i cant wait to test it :)

ok i played it briefly and i really liked it, thats very promising.

tho i think it would be better to modify alice's jumps so she goes higher during long jumps and you can control her left/right during the horizontal jumps.

also im not sure i finished the demo or not, i didnt know where to go after i opened the portal, so i jumped and died thinking the rest of the game was missing. if so that would be better to display a kind of "end of demo" screen. but thats probably because i played it briefly, ill try again later and look for the real end of the demo.

anyway that certainly required a lot of work, and it can be seen easily. btw i wonder if you will release the full game for free or you will sell it.

good luck and keep up the good work !

thanks for your testing

i redesigned the jump lots of time and i certainly have to modify again some parameters. It's hard to find the good equation, difficult not to be too realistic, or too arcade style.

no you don't finish the demo, you have to discover how to continue the adventure ;)

Well, no decision has been taken yet for the full game, but we'll take soon.

Does anyone try the demo ?

like that?

(EDITED)

patbier: oh ok, so ill have to play it again :) kind of reassuring. i know it may be difficult to find the good settings for the jump, as it is now its already very good but the long jumps are hard to control and it can become annoying

This is to patbier-

Well I just finished playing it. I got the key from the clubhouse and opened the gate, not entirely sure what to do after that. For now, here's my critique, which is broken down into various categories-

Graphics: Impressive artwork. The backgrounds and characters are colorful and illustrated well.

Music: I like the main theme at the beginning of the game, it sets the mood. I am sure in future demo releases you will include a soundtrack to go along with the actual gameplay.

Mechanics: Alice is difficult to control during her jumps. You mentioned this as a work in progress, so I'm sure in a future release it will be improved.

The only thing I can recommend right now is to design a loading screen to go along with the atmosphere of the game. Additionally, if you could incorporate a brief synopsis of the game so that players know what the storyline is.

Overall the game is good, very good for a demo. I look forward to seeing this product finished, I wish you and your team the best of luck.

i agree with a lot of what has been said about the game such as the jump situation, the in-game soundtrack, a storyline cutscene or something. my question is ..... is there gonna be any actual enemy battles? the graphics were great for a homebrew. good job thus far. i got to the same point as speud

thanks for your opinion

well, to help you, try to find another path.
As shown in the 2nd screen of controls, a direction sign indicates the different paths Alice can follow.

The 2nd screen of controls is defective. The picture which indicates different paths for Alice to follow cannot be seen- in it's place is a rectangular block of green and purple colors, so I'm guessing the image is corrupted. Could this be a bug? Does anyone else have this problem with their screen, or is it just me? :?
