Cant burn DEMOS with .nrg

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

The files themselves may not have been corrupt when they were created, but how did you get a hold of the files? Did you download them from somewhere? Maybe the download was corrupt.

That's your easier way. There is no way to convert NRG images to anything else. You can convert CDI images to NRG, but it is not easy (if even possible at all) to convert NRG images to anything else, without opening them with a program like ISOBuster, or actually burning them successfully.

Use ISO buster and extract the nrg images into a folder, then use the selfboot toolkit to create a cdi image of them.

http://www.megagames.com/dc/dc_utils_bootcd.shtml - Self boot tools

http://www.smart-projects.net/ - Iso Buster

Or you could mount the image using Alcohol. Load up disk juggler and create a cdi image of the virtual cd (this is effectively converting from nrg to cdi). I tried both these methods and they work fine.

Well like i said... best way to burn .nrg files is to burn them in NERO 5.x.x and to select DAO/96 and to burn at speed between 2X and 4X.

If it's not working still that way... just get the cdi version somewhere else.

Try mounting the NRGs to a Nero Image Drive then 1:1 copying the image drive to your CD burner with Alcohol.

The site you are trying to link to is censored because it pretty much consists entirely of methods of getting working backups, not demos, which are against the forum rules.

All demos and homebrew that I currently know of (anyone who knows differently please feel free to correct me) have .cdi versions available for download from either homebrew.dcemulaton.com, consolevision.com or boob.co.uk - in fact most sites have cdi files as a preference because they can be easily turned into nero files, but not the other way round.

I suggest you redownload your demo from one of these sites.
