Did you put a DivX movie viewing application on the disc, or did you just put the movie on the disc? You can't watch the movie without DCDivX, or something similar.

Can you be more specific as to what you did? Did you use DCDivX? Something else? We don't know how to help you unless we have some specific information on what exactly it is you've tried to do, and how you tried to do it.

Did you try burning a pre-made image of DCDivX, loading that, and then swapping in your movie disc? That should work.

Too lazy to make my own topic...meh...

I followed the DCDivx4Dummies tutorial when I made mine. That is, I the movie through VirtualDub, created the image with the Makedj batch file, and burned it on a CD-R. When I put it in my DC, it works fine at first. I get to the movie selection screen and my movie is there, and when I push A it goes to the loading screen. After a minute that screen goes away and for about half a second the screen turned green, where it looks like a bad video (all pixeled), then went blank. Movie doesn't play.

So, what's it that I'm doing wrong?

I'm guessing that something got screwed up when you encoded the movie. Which version of the DivX codec are you using? 5.0.2 works perfectly, but I believe later versions have compatibility issues with DCDivX.

Ah, that must be the problem. I'm using 5.1.1

Where do I get an earlier version? I searched the Divx site, nothing but the new one.

EDIT: Nevermind, found Divx5 at http://www.ausgamers.com/files/details/html/1793

Ok, now whenever I load the movie in VirtualDub, it doesn't show up. I ignored that at first and encoded the movie, and when it was finished only the audio worked, I wasn't getting any video. I tried reinstalling VirtualDub, but that didn't work. I can still play the video on my computer though, so I have no idea what's wrong.

It worked before...now I'm just confused.

Try uninstalling the codec entirely and then install the one you wish to use.

I did uninstall the old one before installing 5.0 and trying the movie.
