The Ideal SNES emulator
What exactally would ya'll suggest on the ideal snes emulator?
See that these options are quite far away, I still ask what she we look forward to in the future of the Snes emulator?
Some of the things I would like to see:
Full Speed/ Full Sound (of course)
Game Genie support
Internet support
save state
and frame skip
Are the any other suggestions!?
Also, thanks to the guys who made DreamSnes, great emulator! Love the work

some suggestions
Here are some more precise suggestions for the dreamsnes:
-achieve 60 fps(without sound) to at any games that do not require special chips.
-higher sampling rate for sound
-disable transperances
-add fps counter option
-full DMA support
-DSP1 emulation
-DSP Sound Processor( more support if already implemented)
-SA-1 emulation ( i know this may take a LONG while)
-S-DD1 support( if possible)
-SPC7110 ( if possible )
Thank You! Peter, Per, and Marcus for your wonderful accomplishments to your emulator so far, i wish you the best of luck in the future

Well, my dream emulator would be one that ran Snes games 100 percent fullspeed, exactly how the snes ran them.
Yeah, and if you could use the actual SNES pads on it?
Oh, and if we could get the disk to consistently just NOT QUITE make contact with the connector pins in that slot in the top, wouldn't that just be keen?
*Warning* I had a dangerous buildup of sarcasm, so I needed to vent a little of it away from major population centers and all...

Im looking for a emulator that can hook into my brain and I can play the game without a controller. This way I could go to bed and in my dreams play Mario, or Metroid or any snes game.
Yup Im being a smart ass :)
Seriously the only things I care about are:
Decent speed
Decent sound
save support
Game Genie support is a plus also.
But I am very impressed with Dsnes, even from ver .9.4. Even though it isn't 100%, it is a great emulator and I know Id be very proud of myself if I had been a major part of the project.

why would you want frameskip if it were fullspeed? i mean i guess for skipping text in some rpgs or something, but other than that, seems kinda like defeating the purpose of fullspeed...Full Speed/ Full Sound (of course)

Well Zsnes is open source too so maybe the DSNES team could use some of zsnes and snes9x to get the best stuff. Since Zsnes is about perfect and it has all the qualities mentioned above.

Zsnes won't work when you're coding for the dreamcast, not even the most humble parts of it...

All of you are a bunch of cheaters!!!!
Why do you want cheat support so badly??
I second that. The way some people talk, you'd think they want cheat codes more than a finished emulator itself.
Personally, I'd much rather play the game, but hey, do what you will...
Until then, you will all just have to do it the hard way...
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, B, A, Select, Start...

Oh, you mean the NORMAL way, the way the games are intended to be, the way the games were deigned for?someoneElse wrote: Until then, you will all just have to do it the hard way...
Yep, that's the hard way, you're right.....
I personally don't have anything against people who want to cheat on a game, simply it's not my style. the fun factor of the game goes to 0% when I'm cheating.
What the hell. If you like it go and cheat 'til you die....
But I think that cheat support should go well down in an emu's priority list.

CHEATING
would love to play a lot of snes games as they are ment to be but just cant get hold of a lot of the carts as for cheating you are no more a games player than a two year old would be the only cheats that are alowed in my rule is if you cant get it by playing the game its self to get to them ie extra options ect like playing as the same person as player 1 in SF2 original
