phone tapping w/ computer

i have seen this done b4 (my friend does it with his, only we have no idea how it is doing it) so, do any of you know any programs that will let me use my computer as, basicly, a telephone. i want to be able to listen to the convo's and not have them know i am, ona phone, when you pick it up, you get a split second of interference, this gets rid of it. any help please.

????i want to do this with my computer...........i want to do this b/c i want to have some stuff to hold over my sis's head.

Well, I figure you would need to have a voice modem, and you can google the software i suppose.....

I did this a year or so ago with those telemarketing pranks I did. I bought a $30 piece from Radio Shack that is meant to go from your phone line into a miniature tape recorder, but you can plug it right into your mic jack on your computer and it works the same.

ok, then how do i set it up so i can use my computer to "answer the phone". i guess thats what i need to know.

Just get total recorder. It's set up to record whenever there's something playing through your soundcard.
