PSO Homebrewed Server?

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

I run a pso DC server. You need a dreamcast broadband adapter to have access to it. I did this to decrease the lag. And if you dont have a broadband adapter my server will kick you off. Good luck in finding one on ebay or something.

Eh... no idea what's going on here, BUT I have a dedicated and unlimited Satellite/duel broadband connected PC, so if anybody actually writes a server I'd be happy to try and host it.

If this is true, a very simple homebrew server should be enough - maybe a simple DNS-redirect could do the trick...but I could be wrong :-/
(maybe a homebrew login-server (serial nr. check) is necessary)

i didn't take the time to go through all 9 pages but by reading the tittle i guess you refereing to barubary PSO server project, if you do then i must say the project is not abandonded matter of fact it is finished the server is working and some people have already tested it,t the hold back is that she is trying to figure out if sega might go after her if she releases it
here is the topic containing all the lastest info on the project

I wish that the fakes that keep saying they made PSO servers would cut it out. It's completely and obviously fake. Of course the person would have to use PC screenshots to "show off the server".

Major bullshit indicator right here: Sonic mentions that you would need to patch the DC version with a patch downloaded through the DC web browser. Um... yeah.

It doesn't matter how much people want to believe it's already been done, it hasn't. Until a working server with IP address is posted as well as source code for the server, you can bet your dollar on the fact that not only was there never a server, but there never will be one, especially since Sega took their own offline, meaning you have no way to see what the server expects/sends.

It's over and done with.

You can connect through the web broswer which will then specify the IP, sega used to do it on their web site. So I think it can be done. Also, she has credentials, so I'm going to believe her more than some unknown who says he made one.

i msut say ur all simple minded people... there is a server out there for DC/PC/GC connection...

Dreamcast PSO v1/v2 US v1/v2 PAL
Computer PSO All
Gamecube PSO Most

for GC/PC you just change teh DNS numbers as mentioned

For dreamcast there is 2 methods.. if you use a router for ur BB connection you can just specify another DNS number for it to connect to.,.

Way 2

You use a 10 line code for dreamcast that will use the activator like 0E10 t0 activate the code when the dreamcast checks for the DNS server... The 10 line code uses 3 lines to specify the DNS number 3 to Specify what lines to chagne 2 to activate at right time, and 2 to specify the location in the ram where the DNS number needs to be changed.

All this information is true and correct.. i use a "Private Server" on a regular bases along with EU v2/US v1

I go bye the name

What do you change the DNS number to? Wouldn't it need to point to a server?

if don't know about the guys at psolife.com since never heard of them before the post here but barubary i know for sure hse has the power in her mind to do it after all she was the one to reverse engenier the pso game and all its protocols and(decompiled it) so she could create the cheats that pissed everyone off and made pso go down really fast she has the power and from reliable sources that say that they have tested her server for a while say it runs pretty good now the question is if sega will go after her if she releases it since they aren't happy with her."i wonder why"? :?:
