Get a replacement lid from somewhere, they're very cheap and you could get like a transparent one. Dreamface is the cheap one that is all over, lik-sang has it, play-asia, lan-kwei, etc. If you aren't satisfied with the color, you could just paint it (now that you are more skilled). I hope you didn't throw away the old lid, the replacement ones don't come with the DC swirl logo.
If you have twenty monkeys,
banging randomly on typewriters,
they will in twenty minutes produce the complete source code to World of Warcraft.
well i have a lid switch in both of my dreamcasts...my other one has a lid on it but i never put the lid down anyway (since i dont have to) when playing games. I'll eventually get a replacement lid (maybe transparent) for it though, but for right now no lid.

heh...i painted over the swirl logo on my old lid (twas before i knew you could take the logo off)
Alexvrb wrote:With any CD-based console, its better to have a lid of some sort on. Dust, anyone? Other crap that can get in it? Want to damage your CD/GD unit?
Not very much dust can get in from there. Only place is where the laser moves which would just make the dust go to the bottom of the laser pan. The only risk that i see with having no lid is someone touching, or something falling, on the spinning disc... Wouldnt be pretty.
Didn;t this console used to be orange. I could swear the pic I used on my site was this console, but orange. I think it might be the switch thats giving me the idea. Looks good man. Get a transparent lid,a nd install two white LED's by the CD for a nice night time effect. Trust me!
Why doesn't HTML work anymore on this damn forum!? God!
Ah ha! It was this console that was orange before. The pic looked pink, remember. It's on my site under Nintenter's name. The switch IS what made me think that. You have a window in that DC's lid though. SO, it might be a different DC.
