a way to give dc more ram?
hey, ive been hearing a lot of people talking about why emulation is so difficult because of ram issues...im really stupid in this area, but would it not be possible to make some sort of hardware to add ram to the dreamcast? then liksang or someone could stock it and give the dc like 128 mbs of ram, and then emulators would play at decent speed? or no? or some sort of external processor or something to jack it up to like 700mhz...it would be like a superdreamcast...although expensive, is it possible? that would make emulation much simpler i think...speedwise atleast...flames, opinions all welcome.

Maybe possible on the RAM issue but it would involve altering the inside or ur DC with soldering and shit, and i dont think many people will do it.
The whole reason that emu's are easier 2 write for the DC is EVERYONE'S is the same, unlike P.C's. If everyone had differant Dreamcast's there would have 2 b plug-ins on some emu's.

The kind of hardware mods your talking about are next to impossible. Unless you have a thousands of dollars to punp in to research and a team of highly trained electronic engineers. Also once you start moding the hardware like that It stops being a dreamcast. So im afraid were stuck with a 200Mhz CPU and 16 Megs of ram. The only way we will ever see Fully running EMUs is going to be due to the dedication and hardwork of our programmers but even then somethings are impossible. ![Neutral :|](./images/smilies/icon_neutral.gif)
